The Splash - Original Painting
I have the most wonderful childhood memories of digging trenches and river systems along the edge of the lake, watching my new channels fill with water and ever-expanding their reach or complexity. In the moment of this painting, a little girl uses her shovel in the water itself—for a brief moment that glistening liquid is suspended in the air, reflecting wobbly bands of color from the water, the tree-lined shore, the sunlight. The arcs of the shoreline and the tree line diverge. The splash crosses them both.
This original gouache painting is varnished to preserve and protect the soft color and contrast. It is sold with a gold metal frame and has been professionally matted to a standard frame size so the frame is easy for you to change if desired.
Painted image approximately 6.5”x6.5”, matted to 11”x14”.
